What Does a Veterinary Technician Do?

Veterinary Technicians are medical professionals who assist with the medical care and treatment of sick or injured animals. The vet tech performs a wide range of medical procedures including first aid, preparing for and assisting during surgery, testing x-rays and diagnostics, and administering medications and vaccines.



If you love working with animals, this career can be very rewarding. Certification is helpful and often desired by some employers.


According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, the field of Veterinary Technicians will increase by approximately 19% between 2018 and 2028.
